Empty Bowls Long Beach--No Bowls Empty!

500 bowls~dozens of artists~local foods~no hungry bellies

This November, Sara Pilchman Ceramics and the Volunteer Center are excited to bring the internationally recognized Empty Bowls event to Long Beach for the very first time, creating a new annual tradition to celebrate creativity, connection, and care for our neighbors.

Empty Bowls Long Beach will bring together local artists, restaurants, businesses, volunteers, and residents to raise awareness about food insecurity in our community. Guests will enjoy soup donated by local restaurants and take home a handcrafted ceramic bowl created in workshops held throughout Long Beach. All proceeds will support Food for Kids, the Volunteer Center's hunger-relief program, which provides more than 325,000 meals annually to children and families across Long Beach and the South Bay.

Our goal for our inaugural Empty Bowls Long Beach event is to produce 500+ bowls over the next four months with the help of the Long Beach arts community.
